Poem: On Wisdom’s Path

wisdom challenge day 10

Wisdom Challenge: Day 9

Insights from Chapter 9–

“Forsake foolishness and live, and go in the way of understanding.”

Proverbs 9:6 (NKJV)

In the Scriptures (TS2009) translation it says:
“Leave the simple ones and live, and walk in the way of understanding.”

Recently I’ve had the experience of seeing my “friends” post photos of them going out to karaoke without me.

It could be that they know I just don’t go out like I used to, but there’s something about not getting that invite anymore that hits a little different.

Forsaking the foolishness; coming out from the world– from among them to be me separate: it’s all the same thing.

They go out and jest
None bother to text
Invites run dry
I’m strange that’s why
And called to be
Wholly free–
Ne’ermore wrapped
In world’s vanity.

How despise I
What rejection buys
The sweetest gift
A heart’s shift
From acceptance fake
My peace be wake–
Guarded eternally
As so the wise partake.

As sure as strength
Doth within me fall
To bear the brunt–
Consequence of it all
The hope within
Shall never die
Like broken friendships
Where heartbreaks lie.

The peace shall hold
‘Til time’s redeemed
And nothing past
Shall be as seemed
Don’t fret my soul
You’ll have your laugh
As all men do
On Wisdom’s path

Only now be still
‘Til recompense due
Henceforth the righteous
Proclaim I do
All robed in white
No slightest stain
And crowns of gold
To forever reign
