Walk on Water
Jermonté Taivon
I’m no swimmer
So I try to avoid
Oceans of emotion–
Poised, despite the commotion
Of rain, and chill, and gray
Adorning seas of raging waves.
Words tackle the toughest tempest
With faith like a mustard seed.
None who believe shall go without,
But have whatever they speak.
Teach me to believe;
To walk these wretched waters
Til the dark breaks,
And sunrays warm my darkness.
At Your will the storm is stilled
And Immediately,
I’m on dry land.
