I Will Wait

Oh Father, I will wait for You,
For You know the thoughts of my heart;
And all the steps I take,
You have known them from the start.

When I’m confused I look to You.
What need I to stress?
For you have formed my soul;
For me, You know what’s best.

Why shall I pant and worry
For that which I don’t understand?
I trust that You hold my life.
It’s even in the palm of Your hand.

I cry out to You in troubles,
And You attend to my pleas.
Your response is often subtle,
Yet enough to satisfy my needs.

I mustn’t weary myself with plans,
For You say to be quiet; to be still.
Thus I wait for You in faith,
Knowing all will work according to Your will.
