Peace & Poetry

Seek peace and pursue it… Psalm 34:14

Peace and Poetry: What’s the point?

Founder of peace and poetry overlooking the puget sound

If I’m gonna be honest, I often find myself asking, What’s the point? What’s the point of this Peace and Poetry? What’s the point of pursuing a degree? What’s the point in returning that phone call? The list goes on…

It’s not to sound negative, but sometimes life is challenging. Heck, most of the time life is challenging and there’re a lot of things that I just have to think about.

This post is different…

When I first started Peace and Poetry back in 2020, I didn’t know what it would become. I had just graduated from community college with my Associate’s in communications and social sciences (whatever that means) and was set to continue my studies in Paris. As many of you can probably relate, things changed.

Had I gone to France though, I never would have started this site. I’d probably be in France dealing with the consequences of ignoring red flags in pursuit of a toxic relationship. It may sound harsh, but I used to be a simp. That’s a story for another day.

The first mission statement for Peace and Poetry was so simple:

To seek peace and pursue it.

Psalm 34:14

That’s what we’re going back to.

So, what next?

At this point, I have no idea.

Of course I’m going to keep this site up, and I’m going to continue posting poetry every now and again. In addition to that, I’ll probably start adding more down-to-earth posts as well. Mix things up a little bit.

Special thank you to all my readers and subscribers who have stuck around for this long. I can’t believe it’s been over two years! Wow. I hope you guys continue to stick around as I continue to fidget with the site’s design and post sporadic content with no clear genre! 😀

Blogging, writing poetry, or anything that involves “the act of being vulnerable” are things that I must continue to work on. I hope that it’s of value to someone.

May God give us direction in our times of need.

Thanks, and blessings to you!

Until next time,
~Jermonté
