I Will Wait

I Will Wait

Oh Father, I will wait for You,
For You know the thoughts of my heart;
And all the steps I take,
You have known them from the start.

When I’m confused I look to You.
What need I to stress?
For you have formed my soul;
For me, You know what’s best.

Why shall I pant and worry
For that which I don’t understand?
I trust that You hold my life.
It’s even in the palm of Your hand.

I cry out to You in troubles,
And You attend to my pleas.
Your response is often subtle,
Yet enough to satisfy my needs.

I mustn’t weary myself with plans,
For You say to be quiet; to be still.
Thus I wait for You in faith,
Knowing all will work according to Your will.

Make Haste, Beloved

Make Haste, Beloved

Happy am I and full of reason to rejoice,
Even now, in the midst of mine affliction.
For though my emotions seek to deceive me,
I know that my God shall deliver me.
Though sadness sets its ambush;
Though shame readies its bow;
I need not fear with You as my refuge.
By faith am I shielded from utter doubt.
Incline Thine ear to my cries;
Make haste to deliver me, O God.
Even though I wait, You are not slack.
If I trust in You, soon shall come my Help.
Let my mind be comforted in Your Word,
And my heart strengthened by Your Promise.
Let my bones find healing in Your Righteousness,
And my spirit, rest in Your Instruction.
Obedience is as a sweet savor unto Thee,
And songs of praise as a soft kiss to my Beloved.
Let me be intoxicated with Your Love,
And carry me away in Thine Tenderness.
I desire You in the morning,
And for You, I wait in the evening.
You are the source of my joy,
Make haste to me, my Love.

…To Love You

…To Love You

Excite my senses, Great Beloved,
And make known Yourself to me.
You are my deepest desire,
for I was created to love You.
My eyes were created
In the likeness of the universe,
To behold your beauty
As portals, they catch your light
And fill my soul.
My ears were placed
to perceive your voice
In wind, in waves, and in thunder.
The birds have their song,
And the bees their buzz;
All rendering you praise in their way.
My nose was set,
To sense your presence.
If I cannot see the flowers
I smell their glory.
And if I cannot hear the thunder,
I know that the rain is near.
O how marvelous are Your ways!
My lips were formed
To taste of your sweetness.
Honey is bitter in light of You.
My spirit was made to dance.
It never sleeps,
But finds it’s rest in You.
You are my joy, O God,
Truly, I exist to love You!

A Song of Creation

A Song of Creation

I am but a blade of grass
And all my glory as the flower thereof.
I have been planted in Your word,
Nourished by Your love,
Pruned by Your correction.
Your grace is as clouds
That protect me from Your wrath
That burns as the noonday sun.
Your words are drops of rain
That establish my roots.
My flower blooms
In the light of Your righteousness
Shine on me that I may grow thereby.
My roots hold firm in the soil of truth.
The winds of adversity cannot move me.
You give unto me all things
That I may grow in season.
You protect my leaf from pests,
That their venom dost not corrupt me.
Weeds encompass me and seem to prosper
Though their root is shallow
And their hope in vain things.
Alas you pull back Your clouds
And reveal Your burning light.
All that is around me withers
Yet I am nourished ever more.
You cause my fruit to increase,
Free from pride lest it rot.
My wilted leaves are pruned,
All mine impurities plucked away,
That I may produce more for You.
In season You will receive the harvest,
And all that’s corrupted will be burned.
The pest eaten and the withered,
The fruitless and rotten,
They will all be burned.
Nourish me then that I may be useful,
For You, O God, hast planted the world.

God Is With Me

God Is With Me

Blessed art Thou, God of my creation,
And greatly art Thou to be praised.
Though I be alone, I am not,
For Thou art ever with me.
Though I be far, I am not,
For thou art near.
Who can separate me from Thy love?
And who can pull me from Thine hands?
Though my friends be few,
I will rejoice in Thy company.
Though my family be afar,
I shall find comfort in Thy word.
Though men may reproach me in their hearts,
Thou art ever faithful.
Though I may be poor,
Thy wisdom hath made me rich.
What can the world offer when Thou art my provider?
Turn not Thy face from me,
For thou art my delight.
I will declare Thy name before men,
For Thou, O Yahuah, the Holy God of Israel,
Art worthy to be praised.
May Thy name be declared throughout the earth.
And may every tongue confess Thy righteousness forever.

God is Our Strength

God is Our Strength

God, my rock and safe habitation,
Be my light in a world of shadows.
Help me to see thy path,
And to know of surety thy ways.
Give unto me a drink of living waters
That I may be filled and thirst never again.
For thou hast said they shall be filled,
All those who thirst for righteousness.
Feed me the hidden manna of thy word,
That my soul might not faint in battle.
Sustain me; be my support.
I trust not in riches but in you, my King.
Teach me, your child, how to rule my soul.
Let not shame overtake me,
For in thou, my Redeemer, have I trusted.

Trust in God

Trust in God

My mind is grieved and my heart sore vexed.
Mine affliction has made me weary,
Yet will I trust in You.
Strengthen me, O God, for I am weak.
Let, therefore, Your strength be perfected in me.
Make me to know the path of righteousness.
Though I see You not, I am always in Your sight.
Measure my ways, Thou Righteous Judge,
And add to me that which I lack.
Remove from me all vanities.
Look not upon me according to my transgression,
But deal with me according to Thy abundant mercies.
Number me not as one of the hypocrites,
But establish me in Your truth.
For I have sought Thee and called upon your name.
Draw neigh to me according to Thy word,
And deliver me from temptations.
In You, O God, do I trust; forsake me not utterly.
