My Assurance

My Assurance

As I ponder Your ways
And thoughtfully reflect,
I cannot neglect Your praise.
How could I wake
Without Your grace?
Each day has it’s aim,
And the same may be found
When I call on Your name.
Early, first thing
At the alarm ring
Whilst the birds chirp and sing.
I shall not forget
The angel you set
About me—
Who won’t let me fall
Into the hand of the enemy.
For the word You employed
Shall not return void,
But shall accomplish Your will.
Though my foes seek to kill
I may go out still,
Not having fear,
But being filled with Your Spirit.
If a thousand fall at my side
I need not run and hide.
Let not my confidence
Be taken as pride,
For You never lied
When you said You’d protect me.

O, Magnify Him

O, Magnify Him

O magnify the Lord with me!
Come ye and see
How He hast pulled me
Out of vanity.

All ye with ears,
come and hear
How the Lord hast delivered me
From all my fears.

O all ye with a tongue,
Let it speak His glory
Forever!
To the humble and meek.

All ye who labor,
Faint not in the test.
Surrender your burdens
And enter His rest.

For He shall abase the great
And exalt the least.
Be therefore comforted
And filled with peace.

Thank You

Thank You

I lift You up,
King of my joy,
For You made all,
And all shall praise Thee.
Much so I!
How could I not?
Author of light,
And Light of mine eyes,
In Thee doth my soul
Find it’s delight.
Thank you…

It’s Your word
Who narrates life.
You spoke my name
And now I am;
I was and shall be
Forever with Thee
The breath I breathe
Was received
From Your hand;
Of Your Will
By Your mercy.
Thank you…

Your grace, I see,
And Your peace.
In my heart,
Your kingdom established.
Reign forever, O King!
And I wait
For all to be revealed.
With sighs of longing,
Harmonizing
With Earth’s groans.
Awaiting rebirth
And all things new.
Until then,
Thank you…

I Remember

I Remember

I remember that day,
The day You set me free;
You delivered my soul,
And revealed Your love for me.

I remember that hour,
As though not long has passed,
When light entered my life
And purged the sin I amassed.

I remember that minute,
The minute You drew near;
When all worry left me
And soon fled shame and fear.

I remember that second,
When you spoke to my heart,
Saying, Come drink of Me,
And You gave me a new start.

I long for the moment,
Which has not yet arrived
When thou shalt say, Well done,
Beloved! Yours is the tree of life
!

Onward

Onward

Why do the people
Imagine vain things?
Why do they rejoice,
Which blaspheme Your name?

You are not mocked,
And all shall know
That You raise up kings
And You bring them low.

Their hearts have deceived them,
And they think they’ve won.
Their minds perceive not,
That it’s only just begun.

I shall not be moved,
Nor my faith shaken,
For there’s work to be done,
And more souls to awaken.

You perform wonders
Before men’s eyes.
You humble the mighty,
And confound the wise.

Why shall I worry?
And why should I doubt?
For You destroy your enemies
With the voice of Your shout.

I shall press forward
Without reason to fear,
For You are my direction
As the time draws near.

Garde-Moi

Garde-Moi

Reason for Thanks

Reason for Thanks

Worthy are You
To be given praise.
I shall render You thanks

All of my days.

For You have been truthful,

And never lied,
You’ve taken my hand,

And been my Guide.

Where ever You go,

There will I follow,
I shall never be lost,

Nor overtaken with sorrow.

You’ve been my Joy,

And everlasting Hope.
You’ve been my Protection,

When evil men spoke.

Though they laugh and mock,

And blaspheme Your Name,
You shall take vengeance,

Turning their pride to shame.

Keep me, O God,

Steadfast in Your Way.
Never let me wander;

Never let me stray.

O Giver of Gifts,

Fearing You makes wise.
O Father of Lights,

Shine before mine eyes.

I Will Wait

I Will Wait

Oh Father, I will wait for You,
For You know the thoughts of my heart;
And all the steps I take,
You have known them from the start.

When I’m confused I look to You.
What need I to stress?
For you have formed my soul;
For me, You know what’s best.

Why shall I pant and worry
For that which I don’t understand?
I trust that You hold my life.
It’s even in the palm of Your hand.

I cry out to You in troubles,
And You attend to my pleas.
Your response is often subtle,
Yet enough to satisfy my needs.

I mustn’t weary myself with plans,
For You say to be quiet; to be still.
Thus I wait for You in faith,
Knowing all will work according to Your will.

Make Haste, Beloved

Make Haste, Beloved

Happy am I and full of reason to rejoice,
Even now, in the midst of mine affliction.
For though my emotions seek to deceive me,
I know that my God shall deliver me.
Though sadness sets its ambush;
Though shame readies its bow;
I need not fear with You as my refuge.
By faith am I shielded from utter doubt.
Incline Thine ear to my cries;
Make haste to deliver me, O God.
Even though I wait, You are not slack.
If I trust in You, soon shall come my Help.
Let my mind be comforted in Your Word,
And my heart strengthened by Your Promise.
Let my bones find healing in Your Righteousness,
And my spirit, rest in Your Instruction.
Obedience is as a sweet savor unto Thee,
And songs of praise as a soft kiss to my Beloved.
Let me be intoxicated with Your Love,
And carry me away in Thine Tenderness.
I desire You in the morning,
And for You, I wait in the evening.
You are the source of my joy,
Make haste to me, my Love.

…To Love You

…To Love You

Excite my senses, Great Beloved,
And make known Yourself to me.
You are my deepest desire,
for I was created to love You.
My eyes were created
In the likeness of the universe,
To behold your beauty
As portals, they catch your light
And fill my soul.
My ears were placed
to perceive your voice
In wind, in waves, and in thunder.
The birds have their song,
And the bees their buzz;
All rendering you praise in their way.
My nose was set,
To sense your presence.
If I cannot see the flowers
I smell their glory.
And if I cannot hear the thunder,
I know that the rain is near.
O how marvelous are Your ways!
My lips were formed
To taste of your sweetness.
Honey is bitter in light of You.
My spirit was made to dance.
It never sleeps,
But finds it’s rest in You.
You are my joy, O God,
Truly, I exist to love You!
