Godliness with contentment
Whether much or none
Godliness with contentment
of those things under the sun.
How can I buy?
Why should I spend?
The debt goes up
I’m happy at once…
Two… Three seconds
I’m empty again.
Godliness with contentment
Consider it gain
Friends come then go
Like gnats, wind and rain.
The sun rises; the sun sets
The earth spins, I guess
The seasons shift in time
Weeds grow and trees die
All to revive and start again.
Clothing and water
Food and tent
It’s better for man to be content.
With every breath draws
Nearer the end
and remember, O Man
to complain is sin.
